Sad news...

We were all excited and ready to post the most amazing news ever but sadly that is not what is going to happen. Papers were signed and we were in contract to buy the house of our dreams on 3 whole acres and even with a barn that we were planning to turn into our workshop. The appraisal was on Monday and the underwritting was getting started. We were going to know this week for sure if it would be ours....

Well, I woke up at 8 am on monday morning to find my amazing husband home from work.... sadly he was laid off along with 3 of his work buddies. And in these times you would think that we would not have been shocked.... but we were. The work that was lined up, almost promised, for them is no longer there. Although we are very sad (Dan especially) we are sooooo BLESSED that we do have our sidework that we can focus on. We aren't worried about our income, maybe because we saw the most amazing testimony at church on Easter of a couple that is continuing to go through tough times but are still making it. We just are EXTREMELY sad that we will no longer be able to purchase the property for our kids and us. I feel horrible for the other employees (Dan's friends) families. PLEASE pray for them and that they will not struggle as so many families out there are. We are also blessed that we have my family. As much as we want a place of our own it looks like this is where we will continue to stay until we establish to the "loan-powers-that-be" that we can be responsible homeowners.

We are of course sad but we are also excited that we will have much more time with Dan. We can help him more and go sell at more antique shows. And if anyone out there needs ANY furniture please let us give you quality work for an amazing price!!

Oh my goodness...I am so sorry. I can't imagine what that must be like, but at least you are counting your blessings, and still have a roof over your head. We wish you guys the best, and we will be praying for you.

Hi Laura, Sorry to hear about Dan getting laid off but you sure have a good attitude about it. I'm so glad he has the furniture business. We sure enjoy checking out your blog and seeing what's going on and how the boys are growing. That salsa looks great! Love you, Aunt Kathy
